Refund Policy

Plain English: 7-day no-questions refund for unused credits. Used credits are non-refundable. Service outages over 24 hours = prorated refunds.

01The short version

  • 7-day window: request a refund for unused credits within 7 days, no questions asked.
  • Used credits: non-refundable once an AI generation has been performed.
  • Service outages: if our service is down for 24+ hours, we'll credit affected users proportionally.
  • Mandatory consumer rights: if you're in the EU, UK, India, or another jurisdiction with statutory cooling-off periods, those rights apply in addition to this policy.

02Refund eligibility

Eligible for refund:

  • Unused credits within 7 days of purchase
  • Credits that couldn't be used due to a technical issue on our end
  • Credits purchased due to a confirmed billing error
  • Service unavailability exceeding 24 consecutive hours (prorated)
  • Duplicate accidental purchases (within 7 days)

Not eligible for refund:

  • Credits that have been used (AI generation completed)
  • Requests made after 7 days, except as required by law
  • Promotional credits or free credits
  • Dissatisfaction with AI-generated content quality (this is inherent to AI tools — we recommend reviewing outputs before relying on them)
  • Accounts terminated for Terms violations
  • Failure to read documentation before purchase

03How to request a refund

  1. Email us at refunds@resumeai.blog from the email address associated with your account.
  2. Include:
    • Your account email
    • The purchase amount and approximate date
    • Brief reason (optional, helps us improve)
  3. We respond within 2 business days with refund confirmation or follow-up questions.

04Processing time

Once approved:

  • Refunds are processed via Stripe to the original payment method.
  • Stripe typically processes refunds within 5–10 business days.
  • Your bank or card issuer may add additional processing time (2–3 days).
  • For Indian users using UPI/cards: usually 5–7 business days.

We don't issue refunds in cash, gift cards, or alternative methods.

05Chargebacks

Please contact us before initiating a chargeback. We resolve almost all refund requests amicably and quickly via email.

Unjustified chargebacks (where we'd normally refund anyway) cause us extra fees and time. If you initiate a chargeback instead of contacting us, your account may be suspended pending investigation.

If we determine a chargeback was fraudulent or in bad faith, we reserve the right to:

  • Permanently terminate your account
  • Pursue legal remedies for fees incurred
  • Maintain audit logs for fraud prevention

06Statutory consumer rights

EU/UK users: You have a statutory 14-day cooling-off period for distance contracts (online purchases). However, by purchasing credits and using them within 14 days, you waive this right for the used portion. Unused credits remain refundable within the 14-day period.

Indian users: Under the Consumer Protection Act 2019, you have protection against deficiency in services. Our 7-day refund policy and prorated outage refunds satisfy these requirements. For grievances, contact our Grievance Officer.

Statutory rights cannot be excluded or limited by this policy.
