Terms of Service

By creating an account or using ResumeAI (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and ResumeAI (operated by Divyam Sirswal in India).

• You must be at least 18 years old to use ResumeAI.
• Your account is for one person — don't share login credentials.
• You're responsible for all activity on your account.
• Provide accurate information when signing up.
• Keep your contact details current so we can reach you.
• You can delete your account anytime from Account settings.

ResumeAI provides AI-powered tools to help with job applications:

• Resume-to-job-description match analysis
• ATS compatibility scanning
• Resume bullet rewriting
• Cover letter generation
• Interview preparation
• PDF export

The Service is provided "as is." We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We'll give reasonable advance notice for significant changes affecting paid users.

• Every new account gets 3 free credits.
• Each AI generation uses 1 credit.
• Additional credits can be purchased via Stripe.
• All purchases are one-time — no subscriptions, no auto-renewals.
• Credits never expire.
• Prices are listed in USD. Local taxes may apply.
• We may change pricing — but it won't affect credits you've already purchased.
• Promotional credits or discounts may have specific terms.

Refunds are governed by our separate Refund Policy.

Don't use ResumeAI to:

• Submit false credentials, fake resumes, or someone else's information without consent
• Generate content for unlawful, deceptive, or harmful purposes
• Spam, abuse, or attempt to bypass rate limits or security measures
• Scrape, copy, modify, or reverse-engineer the Service
• Resell the Service or use it for purposes other than personal job applications
• Upload content containing malware, viruses, or harmful payloads
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
• Violate intellectual property rights
• Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm anyone

See our full Acceptable Use Policy for details. Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.

You own your content. Resumes, job descriptions, and personal information you submit remain yours.

By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to:

• Process your content solely to provide the Service to you
• Transmit it to our AI provider (Groq) for analysis
• Store generated outputs in your account
• Generate aggregated, anonymized statistics about service usage

This license ends when you delete your content or account. We never use your content to train AI models or share with anyone outside our listed sub-processors.

AI-generated content (analyses, rewrites, cover letters, interview questions) is provided as a tool to assist you, not as a guarantee of accuracy.

• AI makes mistakes. Always review AI-generated content before using it.
• No accuracy guarantee. Match scores, keyword detection, and rewrites are estimates.
• You're responsible for what you submit to employers. AI-generated content used in applications is your responsibility.
• Copyright uncertainty. AI-generated content may not be protected by copyright in many jurisdictions. Use as a starting point.
• Not professional advice. ResumeAI does not provide career counseling, legal, or employment advice.

The Service, including its design, code, branding, logos, and content (excluding your content), is owned by ResumeAI and protected by intellectual property laws.

You're granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service per these Terms. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
• Remove or alter copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
• Use our branding without written permission

ResumeAI uses third-party services (Clerk, Stripe, Groq, Supabase, Vercel, Upstash, Sentry). Their terms also apply to your use:

• Payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe's Terms
• Authentication is provided by Clerk under Clerk's Terms
• AI processing is provided by Groq under Groq's Terms

We're not liable for third-party service failures, outages, or policy changes — though we'll do our best to maintain or replace these providers as needed.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, ResumeAI and its operators are not liable for:

• Lost job opportunities, rejected applications, or career outcomes
• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of data, profits, revenue, or business opportunities
• Damages caused by third-party services we integrate with

Cap on liability: Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100 USD, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions (including the EU) don't allow certain liability limitations. In those places, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ResumeAI, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights (including IP, privacy)
• Content you submit to the Service

By you: You can stop using ResumeAI and delete your account anytime via Account settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your account for:

• Violations of these Terms or Acceptable Use Policy
• Fraudulent activity or chargebacks
• Abuse, harassment, or harmful behavior
• Failure to pay (if applicable)
• Legal or regulatory requirement

If we terminate without cause, we'll refund unused credits. If you violated Terms, no refund.

Sections that survive termination: intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnification, governing law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.

For EU users: Mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence also apply where applicable.

We hope you never have a dispute with us. If you do:

1. Contact us first: Email support@resumeai.blog. We'll work to resolve it informally within 30 days.
2. Mediation: If informal resolution fails, parties agree to attempt mediation before pursuing other remedies.
3. Jurisdiction: Courts in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes, except as required by mandatory consumer protection laws.

For EU consumers: you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced via email (if you have an account) and an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

If you don't agree with changes, your remedy is to stop using the Service and delete your account.
